FAQ
What is a mesocycle?
A training block of 4 to 6 working weeks followed by a deload week. Effort and volume build through the block. See the Training Guide.
What does RIR mean?
Reps in reserve: how many more good reps you could have done. 2 RIR means you stopped about two reps short of failure.
What are MEV and MRV?
MEV is the minimum effective volume, the fewest sets that still drive progress. MRV is the maximum recoverable volume, the most you can recover from. Meso Gym ramps sets from near MEV toward MRV.
How many sets does week 1 start with?
About MEV for each muscle (MEV + 2 for Advanced). Every exercise gets at least 1 set. Heavy barbell lifts start with at most 2 sets for New lifters and 3 for others, and lighter exercises take the extra sets. New lifters also get at most 22 sets per session in week 1 on 2 days a week, 20 on 3 days and 18 on 4 or more. After that, your feedback adds about 1 set per muscle a week.
Why do I need a deload?
It lets built-up fatigue drop so you can start the next block fresh. See Deload Weeks.
Can I use pounds instead of kilos?
Yes. You can choose kg or lb, and you can set a default unit in Settings. Our screenshots show kg.
